UNIFI Sunset and Customer Migration - Important Information and Action Items

We'll cover this during kickoff to ensure you are ready for migration.

Migration Overview

Moving to Content Catalog:

As part of Autodesk's commitment to provide our customers with data management solutions that meet their needs and are better integrated with the Autodesk portfolio, we are migrating UNIFI Pro-only customers to the new, Autodesk-integrated version of Content Catalog. This document contains details about the migration process. We will be migrating customers that use both Pro and Project Analytics at a later date. You can choose to either self-migrate or leverage migration services from the Autodesk team.

Pro-Only Sunset and Customer Migration

We are migrating all legacy UNIFI Pro-only customers (those that do not have Project Analytics) off UNIFI Pro by the end of July 2026.

Pro and Project Analytics Sunset and Customer Migration

For those UNIFI customers who have both Pro and Project Analytics, your timeframe to migrate off UNIFI products will be different, and communications will be sent later this year.


Before Migration Services

Read the Migration Program Overview, and learn more below.

Try out Content Catalog – Upload a small set of content (for testing only, whatever is created during testing will be purged as part of the migration service) so you can see how Content Catalog works. We’ve worked hard to create an intuitive new interface so that you can easily search and insert your content. Note there are a few changes -- some features vary between the products, and administration functions are now accessible in Autodesk Construction Cloud’s (ACC) admin portal. To help you get started with the new admin feature layout, we’ve posted many new support resources at help.autodesk.com.


Internal Admin Training

Prepare your Admin users for migration and rollout so they are familiar with Content Catalog and managing users, collections, and permissions through the ACC Admin portal.


Unwanted Collections

If you have collections you don't want migrated, these should be removed from UNIFI prior to migration. All active content will be migrated.


Pending Uploads

Pending uploads are officially out of scope for migration. We suggest that you have no pending content at the time of migration (please see the beginning of this document for sunset timelines).


Backup Downloadable Content

We recommend you have all content downloaded for backup from UNIFI, as well as any content you have in Content Catalog, as Content catalog will be cleared for migration.


Backup Insert-only Content

The content below cannot be downloaded. Instead, we recommend you batch insert these into a container file (.rvt) so you can export the files easily at another time.

  • Sheets

  • Drafting views

  • Walls

  • Roofs

  • Floors

  • Cable trays

  • Conduit

  • Flex pipes

  • Any other Revit system components in UNIFI

Shared Libraries

This feature is made available differently in Content Catalog and therefore, will not transfer as part of migration. This means that connections to other companies that you had in place in UNIFI will be lost when you migrate to Content Catalog. If you are the owner or “sharer” of a shared library, the content stored in that library will be migrated to Content Catalog.

  • If you wish to remove the connections, since they will no longer be editable once the account is disabled, you can do so by following these instructions about removing access.

  • Note, content sharing across ACC hubs is possible if you’d like to continue to share content across external collaborators once you’ve migrated to Content Catalog.

Channels

Channels will not transfer because manufacturer content is not currently available in Content Catalog. To copy content from any public channels in UNIFI to your own collections to be migrated, you can select all (CTRL+A) content in a channel when viewing a blank search of the channel and right click to choose “copy to library”. In addition, you’ll be able to subscribe to Autodesk OOTB (out of the box) content for specific countries and/or regions.


Content Requests

This feature is not transferable and isn't yet released in Content Catalog. A private beta of the content request workflow in Content Catalog is currently underway. If you’re interested in testing this feature, you can register here.


Migration Details

Migration = One Time Copy

The migration service will create a copy of what you have as it is currently organized; you cannot reconfigure how your content is organized with the migration service. Therefore, if you wish to reconfigure or “clean out”, we recommend you do so prior to the migration or consider migrating manually (manual download from UNIFI and uploading into Content Catalog).


Content Catalog Reset

Your Content Catalog instance on your specified ACC account must be wiped and reset by Autodesk before the migration can begin. This includes User check. This must be done to prevent duplicates and provide a simpler compare for review.


ACC Members Check

Before the migration can begin, if you wish to retain your UNIFI groups, UNIFI users must have a matching ACC member email. We will provide a list of missing UNIFI users that need to be added to ACC. Users must meet the User Add Requirements for Content Catalog.


Custom Preview Images

Custom preview images will be transferred as part of the migration and will remain the preferred custom review image for future uploads until it is changed.


Custom Presets for Preview Images

Custom presets for preview images will not transfer as part of the migration; the default preview setting is “Top, Front, Right, Realistic, Fine”.


Review and Rollout (30-day period)

Corrupt Content

We may uncover content that is corrupt in UNIFI during the migration process. If it is corrupt in UNIFI it will be corrupt in Content Catalog. The migration will simply copy content from UNIFI to Content Catalog as it is.

Bugs or Migration Issues

If there is a common thread of issues among many items, this is likely a bug or a migration issue; please report these to Adam Simmons (adam.simmons@autodesk.com) and Scott Shiple (scott.shiple@autodesk.com).

Configure Content Catalog for Rollout

Below are recommendations to help with your rollout of Content Catalog:


Disabling UNIFI Account

Once your content has been migrated to Content Catalog, you’ll have a 30-day period to roll Content Catalog out in your organization. This gives you time to ensure you discover any corrupt content, train users, and configure Content Catalog to your liking. We’ll let you know when this 30-day period will begin and end. After the 30-day review and rollout period, your UNIFI account will be disabled. You will no longer have access and will not be able to login or recover any content.
